Dealing with hair loss when rest of the world seems richly gifted with hair, can be difficult. And among your options are, shaving your head and going for any of the numerous hair loss remedies available in the market.

A shaven head looks great on many. It is the “in thing” these days. But many of us would keep it as a last move. So, given that you have rejected the clean-head look, the only open course is to try some hair loss remedies offered by many reputable companies in both the prescription and non-prescription categories. Some of these work and many don’t, while there are some that work marginally. Their effectiveness depends upon individual cases. However, experimenting too much is also not advisable. So, the “magic pill”, so to speak, is yet to come.

Rogaine (Monoxadil), Proxiphen and Avacor are some of the leading products in this area. Their success rate varies from person to person. On some heads it might be able to grow hair like they had never gone, and on others they might have no effect at all, and then there may be some on which the effect is marginal.

Hair loss is so common that the number of companies offering hair loss products is simply amazing. So, we have a virtually inexhaustible collection to choose from. There are cheap varieties and the expensive ones. But none of them come with a guarantee of any kind. Their high-sounding claims are mostly accompanied by the disclaimers saying that the effect varies from person to person which actually means that you could be among those on whom the remedy has little or no effect.

Several vitamins have been specifically formulated to check thinning hair and induce their speedy growth. These vitamins usually are combinations of various amino acids, vitamin B6, vitamin E, biotin and Zinc. The advantage is that they promote thicker, healthy and lustrous. But they do not help hair re-growth much. So, if you are seeking something to re-grow your fallen hair, you should go for a supplement that focuses on hair re-growth. You may also try hair transplant if the supplements do not work with you.

In this article you’ll learn the REAL cause of hair loss, how to stop it, and how to regrow thick locks…

Whilst scientists agree that the hormone DHT directly results in the destruction of hair follicles and the resultant baldness, most standard doctors then get it wrong on what actually causes the DHT! The general myth is this: too much testosterone produces the DHT. This is quite false and has been disproven since the 70’s. What is generally agreed upon by experts, but not widely known about, is that it is excess ESTROGEN that causes the OVERproduction of DHT. (DHT at normal to low levels won’t cause hair loss.)

This excess estrogen is of paramount importance to your situation. In actual fact, by reducing testosterone (as is common in many badly designed treatments) you will be naturally increasing your estrogen levels!

The key to successfully stopping your hair loss is to return your estrogen levels back to normal. But what causes excess estrogen (known as estrogen dominance) to occur? And how does this help you return estrogen levels back to normal?

The two main causes of estrogen dominance are:

1) Pollution in the environment (from car fumes to birth control pill residues in tap water)

2) Toxins in food (colorings, flavorings etc.)

These two sources of estrogen are epidemic in modern societies, and are increasingly all the time – as is hair loss and other estrogen-related health problems.

To effectively lower your estrogen levels and stop your hair loss you need to do 2 things:

1. The liver is overburdened with estrogen and won’t be able to deal with the massive amounts of it in the environment. What you need to do is increase the ability of your liver to effectively handle all the estrogen, BEFORE it converts into Estrogen and DHT….

To do this is simple – take a liver cleansing product. There are many good ones on the market.

2. Eat organic food as much as possible. This way you avoid the toxins in non-organic food and help your liver out…

These two steps are vital to reduce your estrogen levels/ But there is one last step you need to do to stop your hair and regrow hair – remove the existing DHT from your scalp asap. This is because existing DHT on your scalp will cause continued hair loss unless removed. To remove this DHT use a DHT removing agent for a few weeks. There are many on the market, but you can also make your own at home for a fraction of the cost. Either way is effective.

You probably have suffered from acne but pray that you don’t have to suffer cystic acne. Cystic acne is one of the many kinds of acne – the most dreaded type of acne. Usually, it’s the dermatologist that gives a diagnosis of this type of acne. The dermatologist would take into consideration the patient’s age and the kind of cystic acne lesions the patient has in order to give the proper diagnosis.

Before we define Cystic acne, let us know the common types of acne:

a. Newborn acne. This is the kind of acne that is often seen in newborn babies. You’ve probably seen a baby with tiny whiteheads dotting his or her face. That is newborn acne. This is fairly common among newborn.

b. Infantile acne. This is the kind of acne that is seen in older babies. This includes forms of whiteheads and blackheads.

c. Acne Vulgaris. This is the most common type of acne that is seen in many teenagers and young adults.

d. Acne fulminans. This is the acne that appears on a person’s torso. This is the painful kind of acne because this is accompanied by pain and fevers.

e. Cystic acne or acne conglobata.

What is it?

A person suffering from cystic acne may experience agonizingly painful cysts forming on the skin’s deep pores. This type of acne usually appears on the face, chest and back. They vary in size from the tiniest painful cyst-like formations to cysts that are a few inches big. The horrid thing about this type of acne is that once the formations break out, the bacteria will spread on other pores or skin areas and will infect these pores so that they too will start to form cysts or nodules.

This type of acne often plagues men more than women. Cystic acne takes longer than the common acne to heal. They also often leave ugly pockmarks and blemishes in their wake.

The Causes

Often, you need to identify the cause of the acne in order to pinpoint exactly the type of treatment that will work with the acne. Unfortunately, the cause of cystic acne is not exactly identified. Of course, experts have pinpointed contributing factors to developing cystic acne. Experts have found out that heredity plays a crucial factor in a person’s chances of developing cystic acne later in life. Your genes are actually responsible for acne breakouts. Of course, there are other possible causes of this type of acne. This includes bacteria, excessive production of sebum and grime.

Treating Cystic Acne

If you have a stubborn case of acne and if you feel like your acne are far more painful and bigger than usual, you should definitely visit your dermatologist. Cystic acne is not easily cured by OTC drugs. Often, you’d need prescription acne medications for this type of acne.

Your dermatologist may prescribe oral medications like isotretinoin which helps in shrinking overactive oil glands. Their shrinkage then limits or minimizes the production of sebum. You may also be prescribed with tetracycline which is another form of antibiotic that is an effective treatment for acne.

Aside from oral medications, you can also consider alternative treatment for cystic acne. Actually, you need to consider other alternative acne treatment methods because oral antibiotics are not effective for long-term acne treatment. People who suffer from chronic cystic acne have discovered that oral medications will eventually stop working.

In this case, you can consider light therapy which kills acne causing bacteria upon exposure. This treatment also encourages skin regeneration so you will get clearer and smoother complexion. Of course, you need to have a good budget because light therapy treatment does not come cheap.

Stress is something almost all of us have to live with. It’s a fact of life, and while it can have it’s beneficient effects, like spurring us on to greater achievements and making us far more focused and intense at a task, taken to an extreme stress can be detrimental to a person, both psychologically and physiologically. One of more annoying effects of extreme stress is a scientific condition called Telogen Effluvium. In layman’s terms, this scary sounding name actually means that a person’s hair starts thinning due to stress.

Stress doesn’t directly contribute to one’s hair loss, however. Despite what most people may think, it’s actually a proven fact that the stress a person feels doesnt have a direct physical bearing on that person’s hair loss. Being stressed out doesn’t cause your hair to pop off your head faster; rather, when a person is under stress, he/she actually falls into certain personal habits that lead to hair loss. These personal habits ARE a direct effect of stress, and dealing with them will help to minimize stress-related hair loss. Here are a few of these habits, and a few precautions you can take to avoid them:

Poor Diet – When people are overstressed, they tend to neglect their eating habits. A person who has an unbalanced diet will eventually suffer from a lot of different physical ailments, and frankly hair loss would be the least of a person’s worries in this case. However, hair loss is a relatively mild warning sign that you should correct your diet and start eating right. To show how a poor diet affects a person’s hair, here is a little fact: normally a person WILL shed hair, roughly about 100 follicles a day, andthese are eventually replaced by the body naturally.

People who have an unbalanced diet will usually lose 200 to 300 hairs in a given day, more than the body can replenish immediately, and THIS causes hair loss. By getting a balanced diet rich in protein, with low fats and carbohydrate content, this type of hair loss can eventually be overcome, as the added nutrients will bring the rate at which you shed your hair to normal levels, and eventually your scalp will replenish your hair naturally.

Alchohol And Cigarettes – sad to say, as a result of stress some people turn to vices to cope with the stress. Alchohol and cigarettes are relaxants, and being readily available and legal, are sometimes overindulged in by people going through periods of high stress. While taken in moderate amounts, both of these vices already carry their own corresponding health risks. However, in times of stress even people who are merely casual social drinkers or smokers may suddenly increase their intake as a means of coping. During these times, the increased intake of alchohol or nicotine causes physical problems. You may have noticed that habitual chain-smokers, for example, have yellowed finger nails or yellow teeth.

Aside from these obvious effects, it’s been shown in studies that hair loss is also one fo the effects of over indulgence in booze or smokes. The remedy for this is obvious; quit smoking or drinking. However, even if you’re not ready or willing to give them up just yet, then at the very least cut back a bit, and avoid the habit of turning to the bottle or grabbing your lighter whenever you get stressed out.

Hair-Fiddling – funny as it seems, a lot of people still carry nervous habits with them throughout life that become more apparent in times of stress. Some of these can actually lead to hair loss. There are people who bite their nails, fiddle with their purse, twirl a ballpen… then there are the people who fiddle with their hair in one form or another. Some girls, for example, have the habit of chewing the ends of their hair when nervous, which leads to a lot of split ends. The nervous habits that most lead to hair loss are ones that involve more drastic versions of hair-nibbling, like actually pulling or twisting your own hair when annoyed, or scratching your head when stumped.

If you’re one of the people who indulges in these nervous habits, then the solution is pretty much to discipline yourself to stop yanking your hair out by the roots whenever your kids blow up the kitchen or your boss starts screaming at you for your deadlines. If you must have a nervous habit, find something relatively harmless – buy a stressball, it’ll even strengthen your grip.

Despite these sage little pieces of advice, however the fact remains that stress is still, ultimately, the cause of your hair falling out. The remedies given here are not permanent fixes, just patch jobs to stall the problem. If you really want to stop your own personal case of Telogen Effluvium (man, the name still sounds scary!), find a way to deal with your stress. Learn to laugh at your problems more, read a book, get more exercise, find a new hobby.

Above all, keeping healthy and having a positive, light, and happy outlook on the world keeps you from getting stressed out. Keep a smile on your face and in your heart, and you’ll be surprised how easy it can get dealing the universe in general.

Body hair can be pretty embarrassing to have in excess. After all, no one wants to look like the Wolfman. While it’s of course totally natural and normal to have some body hair, it can be seen as a bit of of stigma to have excess body hair in some countries, including the U.S. Having a lot of body hair can make going to the beach or a public pool an embarrassing and sometimes unpleasant affair, when the whole idea is to relax and enjoy yourself. Body hair removal is becoming increasingly prevalent as this sort of stigma grows and spreads. We are becoming increasingly vain.

Americans seem to do shame pretty well, or so it seems. We are constantly looking for ways to look younger, lose weight, conceal blemishes, restructure our faces, and we are now getting obsessed with body hair removal. Turn on any television to late-night infomercials and you will see some sort of product that is geared towards body hair removal.

One of the older tried and tested methods of body hair removal is of course waxing. This is my personal favorite. What could be more pleasant than having hot wax poured over your body and having hair ripped from its roots? If you’ve never had the pleasure of experiencing this form of body hair removal, I highly recommend it. Somewhere between medieval torture and a bad day at the dentist, getting your body hair waxed is a great way to spend an afternoon.

The most popular of all is also the most familiar to all of us, shaving. Shaving is by far the most popular form of body hair removal although I’m not so sure it is the most efficient. While it is painless, or at least is supposed to be, the hair just ends up growing back a short time later anyway, and what do you do about the hard to reach areas. Body hair removal for your legs, armpits, and of course face is easy to do by shaving, but what you do if you’re looking to remove back hair or maybe even your butt? Now there is a pleasant thought. And of course shaving always carries the risk of you cutting yourself.

That leaves us with probably the most effective form of body hair removal that I know, electrolysis. This is a medical procedure that involves lasers that permanently, or nearly permanently, removes hair by killing the roots. It is a relatively painless procedure but it is rather expensive compared to the other alternatives, and unless you have a lot of money in these costs can add up quickly.

You can also get specific body hair removal creams and lotions, but I’m not too crazy about robbing those chemicals all of my body. So what is the best way to go? In the end, like most other things in life, that is the decision but you have to make for yourself.

“Keep those lovely tresses flowing!” “Laser Hair Therapy!” “A treatment that revitalizes hair!”

Thousands of affirmations are made today by products available off the shelf just for you to use. They claim these formulas can re-grow hair miraculously but are these scientifically proven as they claim to be? Almost all of these are a complete waste of money. Almost all claim to be “the ONLY formula” that is clinically proven to stop hair loss. Now if this was to be true, won’t everyone be a proud owner of a healthy crop of hair? It should be noted that if one product benefits a person it may not have the same / similar effect on another. Also, age plays a vital important role too. An individual loses his/her hairs as he/she grows older.

Before you try any re-growth formula, it is important to analyze the causes of your hair loss because sometime simple things like changing of diet or usage of different shampoos may do the magic. Also remember, to get better, hair re-growth product needs to be used for at least 6-7 months (hair growth is a slow process – normally grows about ½” per month) on regular basis. No results will be achieved if you jump from one product to another every week; at the end you might just land with a cabinet full of hair re-growth formulas and an empty wallet.

There are various hair restoration treatments available on the market today. Modern technology has produced some very effective treatments, both medical as well as surgical hair restoration treatments. These methods include Hair Transplantation, Laser Treatment, Hair Weaving, Capsules, lotions hair oils etc.

However, there are also some another substitutes that are not effective at all. In case, you decide to go in for any of these treatments, make sure you know the difference between the two and the side effects (if any). Remember; even the very best treatment does not work for everyone. At times, even scientifically verified and approved treatments can have some side effects.

So keeping all this in mind, how does one choose the best hair re-growth formula?

1. Make sure you consult a qualified hair specialist when considering some form of hair loss treatment – either surgical / medical.

2. When buying a hair re-growth formula, read the label properly for any advice / claims made by the manufacturer. Don’t just blindly go and buy just because your favorite actor/actress is promoting it.

3. Do some research online and ask some people who have used the product before going ahead and buying it.

4. Ensure that the treatment is suited to your body hormones or you may just land up with a bald plate. Also, check the doctors’ credentials.

Whatever the product / treatment you choose, remember there can be side effects of taking too many at the same time. So beware and choose well!

Shampoos today never fail to advertise vitamins in their products. They claim that vitamins will make your hair “shiny and healthy” much like they can do to skin. But the truth is that vitamins are important to the hair, not to promote “health” but to promote growth.

When going for such products, it does take two to three months before your head can manifest a radiant crown of hair. That’s why shampoo companies also advertise regularity and this is not just for them to earn big bucks but for your own benefit too. Some shampoos specializing in hair growth have carefully measured amounts of vitamins in their products.

If you have hair loss problems, these are the vitamins you should check for in hair growth shampoo bottles the next time you’re in the supermarket.

1. Vitamin A. This is an antioxidant vitamin, helping your body improve blood circulation and for you to have great skin. It also produces sebum in the scalp which is the body’s natural oils, moisturizing it and encouraging hair growth. However, doctors have warned that more than 25, 000 IU of Vitamin A daily can cause hair loss. That’s why shampoos just put the right amount of Vitamin A in each bottle.

2. Vitamin C. Also an antioxidant naturally found in citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons and grapefruits. It can help maintain great skin, including a healthy scalp.

3. Vitamin E. Another antioxidant that also enhances blood circulation in skin and the scalp. They can be taken orally on a daily basis or eaten as green, leafy vegetables, in soybeans and nuts.

4. Vitamin B3. Also called niacin. Also promotes blood circulation in the scalp. It can be found best in white meat.

5. Vitamin B5. Or Panthothetic Acid. Commonly found in most shampoos. This vitamin will stop the growth of gray hairs. It can also help stop hair loss.

6. Vitamin B6. This is the main component of melanin which gives our skin and hair its color. Having an ample supply of vitamin B6 will allow your hair to come out with a deep and glowing natural color.

You can take these vitamins in its synthetic form however, medical practitioners’ advice people to take them in their natural and organic form to prevent side effects. Most synthetic vitamins are cheaper though, but you have to buy from a reputable source. It would promote overall health not only for your hair, but also for your body.

Anyone experiencing rapid hair loss is a shock. One day you have a beautiful head of hair that makes you feel young, sexy, and sometimes even elegant. A few days later, you realize that you just brush the hair straight to her head bald. Can be particularly devastating for women to realize that not only sparse hair, but it proceeds at a pace that is absolutely unacceptable.

But well-meaning friends often wrongand family members may think that buying some beautiful hats and scarves will make you feel better. Let's be realistic. A hat is a great big hat, but do not want to be forced to use one. We love when we have the possibility of using a big hat.

There are some probable causes when it comes to a rapid loss of hair and different ways you may be able to stop treatment and then reverse this trend. Top of the list of probable causes are disease and nutritiondeficiencies. The disease can be something to influence cancer. It's better than this rule, with a thorough check-up.

Nutritional factors may play a role in whether your hair will continue to grow strongly in the head. Poor nutrition and long-term vitamin and nutritional deficiencies can cause a similar reaction in the body to produce more DHT.

Further assess the presence of the family of B vitamins (especially B6, B7, B12), niacin, magnesium, folicacid, and zinc. These are essential nutrients for the prevention of hair loss and nutrient important to ensure it can grow like Rapunzel.

Sometimes (when the pregnancy is not really a disease) or even the menopause or post-partum periods can cause problems in the department of hair, including loss. That's because these days some women produce more testosterone, which then results in the hormone DHT. DHT prevents hairfollicles to grow again after the initial root of the hair is dead and fallen in the way it is.

Rapid hair loss in women is a difficult condition to treat, but not impossible. Food with a heightened awareness, more detailed examination of health, and potential for exploration of the overproduction of hormones, most women find their cause and are able to cope. If you can not find the cause of right off the bat, a little 'more research. You are not alone, andThere are many women who understand that are not required to wear a hat, if not in style plans for the day.
